Get a Life

“Get a Life”, definitely a familiar phrase growing up. So familiar it tends to sneakily lead our thoughts. We long for lives that we want to “get”, usually revolving around an accomplishment or achievement. I haven’t really lived until ____. I’m not succeeding in life because I’m not ____. I just want a life where this coronavirus thing doesn’t exist. I just want my life to be as great as it is right now and not change.


Even when we obtain those lives that we’re striving for, how long does it last until we’re wanting to “get” a new one, a better version of the one we have. We are constantly searching for more in our lives. We are created to want more.


John 7:38 “As Scripture says, ‘Streams of living water will flow from deep within the person who believes in me.’” Jesus said this about the Spirit, whom his believers would receive.


The more we are truly longing for, the life we are truly thirsting for, is one where we are living in closeness with God. He created us to walk with Him, to be in a relationship with Him. This life we don’t feel dissatisfied with. It doesn’t get old. God has SO much to Him that we’re never done knowing Him, there is always more.


God I pray that we live a life that begins with You. That we are satisfied with our lives, because it is a life that is built on You and led by You. That circumstances and items of this world don’t hold weight in our lives, because You are our life. AMEN

You Don't Have to be Perfect

Worshiping Our Savior, the Creator

"You are to take seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female, and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky – in order to keep offspring alive throughout the earth.” Genesis 7:2 (CSB) Once I was able to get past the initial shock that it wasn’t just 2 of each animal, as I had grown up thinking, I was then curious about why He was so specific and why there needed to be more of the clean animals for them to survive than the unclean.
